Will you guys still go to UIUC? In the general curriculum, it looks like you get to choose a variety of classes that you want. So I guess all you have to do is take the required classes for business transfer, get good grades, and you're in.
I know it sounds easy, but this will probably be very difficult. As least we all have a chance. Right?

I used to be a general curriculum student who has changed to Computer Science.

I'd say that general curriculum ain't that bad, especially when it gives you some flexibility of choosing courses.

The counselors are very helpful too.

As long as you don't slack off, you probably will do well.

omg you almost stole my name lol
anyways it is fairly good to be in gen. curric. bc in my position, im in economics and am considering to transfer to business next semester, after going through workshops, career fairs, etc. im kind of doubting if i want to truly major in business, the whole existentialism thing and deciding what I really want to do with my life. so yea ride it out for a year and explore a bit and decide what you really want to do with your career.

Thanks for the replies redmoon and tennisfan88. (I swear I didn't mean to almost steal your name! LOL!)

Anyways, more comments/feedback is always appreciated. It looks like it's really hard to transfer to business. Only 30% get in...

Thanks

does anyone know the stats you need to get into business school? do they only plug in numbers or do they consider you as a whole package? cuz i didn't think getting into business for UIUC would be that harddd, but apparently it is this year.

not to sound pessimistic but i read on the posts on this forum that transferring is getting harder and harder every year so believing transferring is a guarantee is not a good reason to accept admission into LAS. they i guess lowered the requirements which caused the transfer pool to increase greatly even though the amount of transfers they take didnt increase.

i meant the stats you need to get in as a freshman. cuz i'm wondering how i got alternate choice cuz i didn't think business at U of I was going to be that competitive to get into.

I heard the average ACT score was between 31-32, and about 80-85% of admitted were within the top 10% class rank. They don't just crunch numbers though, they definentely consider the whole package. The whole "college-reviewed" deal is to show that the Deans read over all the essays and information. I believe they are looking for those that have shown leadership and ability to make a significant difference.

hmm. i see i see. thanks!
