Do girls schools have more loose dress codes than coeds?

[/quote]

It appears that way and also that the girls dress code at co-ed schools with formal dress codes is quite a bit less formal than the boys coat and tie if that makes sense.

milton has no dress code which is nice since that's the school I really want

Yes, you can wear jeans at Andover. We have no dress code so you can pretty much wear whatever you want.

Ralph Lauren + J Crew + Lacoste = life.

andover and exeter's dresscode is really relaxed at least for girls
I would say andover is more relaxed than exeter if I had to say
you really don't have to wear brand name stuff
for classes you can't wear stuff with writing and technically you can't wear sweatshirts but other than that you can wear whatever -- including jeans
as long as it looks presentable

When we visited Exeter....our guide wore very rumpled and overly-large chinos, an untucked shirt and tie loosely knotted. No blazer. I thought he looked a mess. I don't think the dress code is too strictly enforced if they can't get the tour guides to dress appropriately.

It probably doesn't bode well for my son that our family has never even heard of Lacosta or JCrew. Must be an east coast/west coast thing? We have heard of Ralph Lauren, though.

He mainly wears t-shirts, mountain khaki pants (a special heavy duty, double-kneed canvas pant meant for heavy work made in jackson hole, wyoming) and hoodies. I guess we need to take a close look at the dress code when he decides where he is going to school.

ARE YOU SERIOUS??!
NO WRITING ON THE SHIRTS IN CLASSES??
like every frikin ae, a&f, hollister shirt has WRITING on it!! it has to!! haha its the brand namee!

omg it looks like if i get in....i have to get a whoooole new wardrobe..

yeah girls schools tend to be more relaxed. i live in sweatpants.

are you (inspiration08) saying that you're allowed to wear sweats to class??

i dont even need sweats to survive i just need jeans!! and apparently andover is the only school out of the 5 i applied to that allows that!!
