To Appeal or Not to Appeal...that is the question

<p>Rare and strange position in UCLA:</p>

<p>I'm on the alternate list for music (composed of six people), which means I replace accepted students who dont want to go to UCLA.</p>

<p>I called and UCLA said that there's space for some alternates, but professor approval must take place first. </p>

<p>Should I email UCLA or the professor to express my interest, or is it something useless(as its pretty late) or may possibly hurt my chances?</p>
