To NYU from Rutgers

I'm a freshmen @ Rutgers New Brunswick (specifically Rutgers College). I'm not really a school person anyway but I just really dislike everything about Rutgers and feel that I dont belong here. So I'm really trying to transfer to NYU but it seems like all the odds are stacked against me...Can anyone give me some input/advice?

GPA: 91.41 (3.6?)
EC's: All 4 yrs worth of clubs and comm. service
Rank: 10/35
SATs: 1030(Now it makes sense I'm at Rutgers)
Minority

Currently taking..
precalc

french II
biology for non science majors
intro to macroeconomics..

I Honestly don't know what I want to major in soo I'm thinking of applying to CAS as Undecided (Is that possible as a transfer?) I know I'm definitely not a shoe in and I really haven't even decided whether to apply yet. I know i can get a really good recommendation from my french teacher but other than that I'm not feeling optimistic about getting in..

Honestly.... I think you are going to have a tough time. Your SAT scores are low... and your high school grades aren't bad, but don't compensate for your SAT scores. Your college GPA is also probably low.

My best advice is to apply next year and to have a really good gpa this semester and next semester. (I would recommend applying for Fall 2006, but I guess you could try Spring 06 if your grades are really good this semester).

Do you think you could be happy somewhere other than NYU?

But... this is just what I've picked up while researching the transfer process (a lot of which has been learned through this board).

Don't take this as me telling you not to apply... if you don't, you'll never know what would've happened if you don't.

Yeah, I definitely don't plan on actually getting accepted but I'm the type of person that just has to know. NYU isn't the only place I could be happier because I have another school lined up. I think the only thing that could actually get me in is making sure they nkow about my ECs job experience and an amazing reccomendation letter (hopefully I'll have one) and also the AC wanting to see my second semester grades. It can't hurt to dream but I definitely know the reality of my chances getting in
