To repeat Senior (and parts of Junior) year, or skip ahead?

I have taken a few community college courses during high school (through lin alg, and thermodynamics), and will take about 17 ap tests before the end of senior year. I wanted to know if it would be worthwhile to go past lin alg, thermodynamics and the introductory course equivalents of some of my ap tests and potentially land a lower gpa, or do things slowly and retake classes. I think i’m about mediocre prepped from my comm college courses and ap test studying. And also, does anyone know how many credits GA Tech limits you to? As well as how hard current students may have found their introductory courses?

I’m hesitant to skip because I heard that Tech destroys your GPA.

As you can see you have to get a 4/5 to get credit.
My D is a freshman who came in with 22 hours AP credit. She got AP credit for calc 1 and took calc 2 and got an A. Many/most kids take the AP credits. If you think you might be week in a subject, retake, especially for science and math. Also, there is no guarantee that if you decide to retake a class you did well in that you will get a good grade at Tech.

As a Tech student, I’d say get out of any classes you can, especially if you’re worried about your GPA. Calc 1 isn’t going to be an easy A even if you did well in AP Calc BC.

@gogeorgiatech‌ how’re the classes there? Are they hard or easy compared to high school?

Classes are definitely harder than they were in high school for me, but they’re not unmanageable. It’s all about time management and prioritizing. If you find you’re in too heavy a workload after a few weeks, then drop the class if you really can’t give it any more time.
