So I've got a bit of a predicament. I have taken the ACT twice, once with no studying and once with about 3 or 4 days of prep. I received a score of 31 both times and was less than thrilled with the results. I know that there are one or two more opportunities to take the ACT again, and this time I will be studying starting now. I am anticipating getting a 34+ with studying. Here is where the problem lies. I have yet to take the SAT. None of the schools I am applying to (Yale, Harvard, Duke, JHU, a few others of others) require the SAT, but I've been told that it looks good. So which do I study for, ACT, SAT, or both?

Usually, studying for the SAT/ACT prepares you well for both tests. All you need to know is the question format and time constraints.

I took the SAT first last December and the ACT last month. All I did for the ACT was take 1 or 2 practice tests and got a decent score on both tests.

I recommend doing more practice tests instead of learning strategies that you probably already know.

If you can get a 34 on a test you’re already familiar with, go ahead and ignore that false rumor that the schools prefer SAT over ACT. They aren’t idiots. They know that huge numbers of potential admitees ONLY take the ACT. They’d be fools to discount them because of regional preferences for one test over the other.

Will It Blend? That is the Question Mark.

^ Those videos are awesome lol.
