To take our minds off the inevitable: the things that make us nerds

I know that most people are more worried about THOSE pieces of paper, but I think we should get our minds off the subject even just for a few seconds. So: THE THINGS THAT MAKE ME A NERD:

I still like some video games. I’m a Harvest Moon freak all the way. I AM Karen.

Finding this site and checking it now…ahh…hourly.

Having gone to a ‘Journalism dance’ it was at a convention in Seattle and it was hecka fun…but still…

Knowing the capital of every state…it was a family game when I was little…maybe nerdiness comes from genetics.

Embrace the nerdiness. It’s fun

Harvest Moon 64? I totally played that in 6th grade...awesome.

I tell chemistry-related jokes
For example - a conversation between two atoms
Atom 1: I think I've lost an electron.
Atom 2: Are you sure?
Atom 1: I'm positive!

yeah.

I can't stand unclosed parentheses. If I see an unclosed parentheses I will not hesistate to close it. Thoughts need completeness, man!

I love reading Faulkner. I guess that makes me a literary nerd.

I waste so much time watching the History/Science Channel it's not even funny...

I flake out on friends on certain Friday nights so I can watch Numbers. There's math on it! Math that is used to solve crimes! That's awesome!

I read the nutrition facts on like everything...not because I'm into healthy eating but because I find them interesting.

I own A Brief History of Time and I've actually bothered to read it (instead of just displaying it to show off).

I read 'The Annals of Tacitus' and selections from 'The Great Political Theories' Volumes 1 and 2 when I get bored. If that doesn't make me a nerd, I don't know what does.

I spend more time reading the historical backgrounds than I do actually playing on Age of Empires.

Economic analysis on StarCraft is so awesome.

My favorite drunken topics of conversation are capitalism and economic inequality.

I spend hours comparing ingredients in different bodybuilding products to test their scientific validity because it's so damn fascinating.... if only I could actually afford them.....

Ah, Harvest Moon, that really brings me back. I remember I married the girl who worked at the flower shop. Who in their right mind would produce and market a game about farming? Genius...
