To Those Who Did "Poorly" - - - An Honest Analysis

thats my goal too.. 2250.. and I dunno, i just have this weird feeling i misbubbled or something, 1950 just seems wayyyy out of my ballpark.. eh.. wutever, working on it is the key..

how did you prep johnnydr87?

anyone else first time scores?

Grammatix.com and the SAT blue book.

Personally, the self-reproach of getting a bad grade fades after awhile.

The reproach of Asian parents don't, and that is what really bugs me.

It was my first sat and i did poorly 640 Math 650 CR and 550 Writing, my problem is that time is too short. Im retaking it and i wonder how much my scores can improve...because i need at least 700 to be taken seriously for the colleges im applying too. A question Do admission people take notice of the fact that you are and intl -in my case venezuelan- when they take a look at your scores? I know that all you said is true..but i have such a weak admission...and i really want to go to those colleges...

Well, I got 2240 in my first (M: 640, the others 800). that was in december. Gave it again in Jan and got a 730 in math, 800 CR, 770, writing. I dunno what advice I can give, I've always found the CR section to be very easy, and writing's much the same.

i go to a school that's basically like early college entrance geared towards math and science for the last two years of high school. To get good grades in college, you just can't get behind since there are so few tests. I was wondering considering the school I'm going to will that give me any more of an advantage.... because I got a 680 on my math because I forgot to do 2 pages of a section.... please no smart-ass comments... I know it was retarded. But it doesn't mean I won't do well in college. I don't know if I should have my councelors tell them abou tthe incident or not... I mean I don't want them to think I'm whiny or nething. I'm going to retake it, but I don't know.

Aseemo, where do you go to school?

I go to a similar school in Arkansas (asmsa.net). Chances are, if your school's a math and science school, it's in the national consortium for math and science schools too....

I scored a 1390 (380 CR, 540 M, 470 W) on the psats in my sophomore year haha so sad but I didn't prep up for it. I'm going to sign up for it in my junior year and study really hard for the Merit Scholarship hopefully. I'm also taking the SAT on June 3 to see how I do and prep really hard during the summer and take it again in August right before the school year starts. I live in Georgia and an Emory dreamer!!! I have a 3.68 (92.14) UW GPA and a 3.8 (95.10) W GPA right now. I don't know how I got a 1390 on the psats. Thanks iwantwharton you've just pushed me to another level of studying for Emory.

also, if your score is not as high as you want, try the ACT. for me it was much easier.

tams....................... its prolly the same type thing
