Did all of you guys or your counselors get contacted one-on-one by admission officers?

I'm wondering if Stanford has a "short list". If it does, i'm not on it.

I'm wondering if Stanford has a "short list". If it does, i'm not on it.

My counselor was contacted. I don’t think there’s a small shortlist though because I know someone who got an interest contact and ended up not getting an offer last week.

I faced the exact same scenario that bluebubbles described. Although I earnestly want to get in, I’m starting to think that that letter didn’t mean much

Well it looks like they emailed more that 85 people they took (because some people would decline, etc.), so the question is - if they take anyone else, would it be from that emailed list, or not? I have checked the waitlist threads, and looks like everyone who was admitted (at least here on CC) did get an email (or his/her counselor). But it would be great if all WL admits wrote here so we can see if there was someone w/out an email who got in.

I didn’t get the interest email and I still got in, so I don’t believe the interest email plays a significant role in determining admission.

also got in w/o the email.
