TOEFL (Brown U)

hey there

just read the informations for international students on the Brown website (<a href="http://www.brown.edu/Administration/Admission/applyingtobrown/internationalstudents.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.brown.edu/Administration/Admission/applyingtobrown/internationalstudents.html</a>) and some questions occured:

"If your native language is not English, the Board of Admission requires that you submit the results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) as evidence that your English proficiency is satisfactory for study at Brown. A TOEFL score of 600 or above on the written exam, or 250 or above on the computer-based exam, is required in most cases. The TOEFL requirement is waived for candidates who have scored a 600 or above on the SAT I verbal examination."

Why isn't it possible to send the internet-based-test? Actually it's much more common than the paper-based, the computer-based is even disposed .. does anybody know about this issue?

what do they mean with "SAT I verbal examination"? CR?

frankly it looks to me as if they hadn't updated this site for years ;)

“What do they mean with SAT I verbal examination”? CR? - YES
They hadn't updated the site (I hope so). If I remember correctly 100 in IB TOEFL is the same as 250 and 600 on the computer based and paper based, respectively.

Just email the admission officer and ask, whether they take IB scores or not.

ok, it's verfied now..
Their minimum score for iBT is "around 100".
