Hello everyone,

I just received my TOEFL score and it 92. I know Barnard asks for a 100 as a minimum.
What should I do ? Is it okay to apply with this score ? I really want to get into Barnard.

Thank you

Only Barnard could answer your question, but if they say 100, they probably mean it. I’d take it again if that’s possible. And study for it, of course.

Man, I already answered your question, but just thought of another thing.

I just switched out to another level of a class because I had trouble with vocab. I got 118 on TOEFL and 730 CR on SAT I.

I am NOT speaking for Barnard here. Just from my experience: if you do not have a better English than me, do NOT come here. This school is brutally tough. Don’t let the rankings fool you.
And to those who are definitely going to be reading this post and wondering if I am just not hard-working enough. I’ve done some work that required 13 and up hours of attention per day. Go figure, huh.
Just, you know, don’t. They’ll tell you ‘take four classes’, and you’re going to think they’re nuts. How tough can it be? Well, very. They are not kidding. At all.

On the other hand, as a student here you will have a brilliant set of administrators. They ARE there to look out for you. Even when you are unaware, they are there. I just received an email from an unexpected official from a program I was not even aware of. The official was expressing concern with something I bet my friends did not notice. Barnard people ARE THERE FOR YOU.

I strongly suggest emailing those two lovely ladies who are responsible for admitting internationals. They know it all. A student is equipped only with hearsay (and, to be honest, we just do not talk about each other’s scores,) but Admission Committee is the one to know for sure.

Go for it.
