oh man i just hate standardized tests.

my parents randomly signed me up, and TOEFL was just boring that I almost cried. Oh well not complaining with a score of 280.

oh man i just hate standardized tests.

my parents randomly signed me up, and TOEFL was just boring that I almost cried. Oh well not complaining with a score of 280.

I got TOEFL Computer 300/300 !!!

No way man! There wasn't a person on earth who got 300 out of 300

I wouldnt be lying, would I?>????

rushil, r u from Korea? I know lots of ppl there who study hardcore for those exams. It's rather pointless because once you achieve a score of 250 or above, colleges will just consider it all the same. Well, but a perfect score is something that's worth mentioning about...(are you on a newsppaer or something?).

nevertheless, i hate ETS. Their score reports are freaken 17 bucks per school. This is such a ****** price!!

jhpark,

Rushil's profile says India...Isn't that, I dunno, self-explanatory? :p

Actually, UCLAri, my profile says Romania, but I'm an Asian. It's hard to decide to put "Location" as literal location or "Country originally from".

Aren't you yourself an American expat in Japan?

I was being facetious.

But I forget that this board isn't the right place to be humorous.

Sarcasm or something besides a blatant sense of humorous is often hard to decipher online. I've had fights with friends because of misunderstandings.

oh com'on guz, it doesn't matter where is he from? It just the matter of fact, he got the 300! He wouldn't lie. As for me, I took almost a year ago, when I was back in states. I thought I was reall well at it, but literally i pooped in my pants when I got the score report. It said 217. I was like What da heck?.
SO Congratulations bud!

300 isn't possible?? are you guys kidding me.. I think the majority of international students in my school had 300 on toefl. 290 at least.

May be, may be you had better teachers. But gotta tell something, i didn't study at all, didn't have any books. 290-300 score owners had been working their butt off, probably

No...not all of them.

Just got my score - 280. HAH, I finished without any prep and in 1/3 of the time given. That may have been a stupid move, but it just proves how easy the TOEFL is.

I wish they'd release a more rigorous test and start recording the time when someone is finished. Would significantly help the benchmarking.

I'm amazed how good you scores are. I mean, you must be living in a english speaking country more than four years at least.

No, I;ve never lived outside India except when my dad was at Cambridge(U.K) and I was 2 years old!!!

um, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't english an official language in india and the commonwealth...
but still, that probably has little to do with your perfect score, I guess many exclusively native speakers can **** up the toefl, it's subjective (just like any standartized test) and unbelievably tedious. I got 297 and I only bothered to check out the cd they sent me. scoring high is a matter of alertness and having a common sense for grammar rules.

I scored a 673 on the paper-based test with a 6.0 essay... and I've never lived in an english-speaking country or anything, but I've studied in bilingual schools since Kindergarten. I thought the test was sooo easy and tedious...

essay was easy.. relatively simple//
but I was unsure on the grammar/reading sections.
although the contents were pretty easy, some answer choices seemed all correct.

but I think 277 is a decent score,,, right?

i mean colleges don't care about the exact score if you get over a certain score.

Yeah, 277 is a good score. The minimum that schools ask for are sometimes 250-260. That's sometimes for engineering schools, sometimes for all students of a high-end school. Other schools state they don't have minimums.
