Can I send my TOEFL score to universities(US) without applying there as of now. I plan to apply for spring/fall 2011 but I do not have my other documents ready like transcripts etc. Is it a good idea then to send my TOEFL iBT score now itself and then later send all the other documents?

If you are getting free score reports, go ahead and send them now. Most colleges will create a file for you when they receive the first item in your name. Most colleges will also give you an online account where you can see all of the documents that have been received, once you submit the main application. Worst case you might have to request score reports again later.

thank you
Yes, I’m getting some free reports. So, will I need to do anything in future is I decide not to apply to those colleges?

nope, just leave it as it is. but most people end up applying to a few schools anyway so that shouldn’t really be an issue.

So if I took the SAT for example, and didn’t use my free score reports then… I can’t use them later on when I apply?

nope, there is a deadline for the free scores. anything after that, and you’ll have to pay for each school that you wanna send it to.

Wow… That sucks.
Thanks

thank you guys for the replies

does anyone know upto when can I order my free reports if my exam is on saturday morning?

I took the test on May 2nd and had until May 10th to send them. In any case, The College Board usually sends reminders about the option to send them to your email.

I would be confused if I got a TOEFL reminder email from the College Board…

isn’t collegeboard just for SATs ?

Oh lol, I got confused cause I asked about my SAT score Sorry!

Try this: [TOEFL: Internet-based Test: Send Scores](Sending Your TOEFL iBT Scores)
