I can't change my recipients. Toefl website is just stupid. :/ I got a 90, and I can't send my scores to the colleges I applied. However, I wrote my score in my college app. Will they just ignore my application if they don't receive my official toefl report??? :O

Yes, colleges need to receive an official score report. Otherwise your application will be considered incomplete and your application might get auto-rejected (especially if the missing item is something as essential as TOEFL scores). They won’t pay attention to self-reported scores because you could easily be lying.

Why don’t you request additional score reports for the other colleges?

it costs 187 dollars. its SO much. and I’ve been in a college prep american high school in NY for two years now. and graduating there. and I’ll be applying for theater so i will audition for the schools. so sending toefl reports are just expensive and not that necessary

If you do not qualify for a TOEFL waiver based on your SAT scores or having lived in the US for two years (I assume you have checked that by now), I am afraid that those TOEFL score reports are necessary.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I’m having problems with the TOEFL as well.
My total is somewhere around 187 dollars like the OP, but I only have 140 left on my credit card. The deadlines have passed, but I couldn’t go to the bank because they were closed for winter holidays. Should I start worrying or would they still accept my scores when I’ll be able to send them? I mean, they do take a while to get there anyway…

I would get them the test scores as soon as possible. They probably won’t read your file until after your application is complete, which could put you at a disadvantaged especially if you are an international student competing for a very limited amount of financial aid. (The aid budget will run out eventually…)

Given your temporarily limited financial resources, I would prioritize colleges that require all testing to be completed by December. If a college accepts scores from the January SAT test date, they can probably wait for TOEFL scores until the end of January too.

Thanks a bunch! I think all of them accept January testing, so I’m good :)
