I took the computer based TOEFL exam, in the end i got a 230/283 or something of that sort, i was told that this result doesn't include the writing part of the exam and lacks some of the "stracture" points, does anyone know if it's considered o.k? what's the top score on the computer based exam?

I believe 300 is the top score, and the score you get at the end is an estimated range where your actual score falls. Once your essay is evaluated, you will get a final score. Anything above 270 is fine I think (but others may have different opinions).

so what's considered a good score? i believe i wrote a good essay, but assuming it's an average one, what's the estimated score? is over 270 really is enough ?

u just have to write a very very very simple essay....it shud'nt be too good either ...i dunno how they evaluate it....but anyway, u seem to have a good range (230/283)...mine was (230-287)...got 280

u have a pretty good range. My range was 227/283 and I got 283. With that range, your score is bound to be better than required by ALL colleges. Well, if u havent messed it up real, real, real bad, that is.

well, i hope you guys are right, i wrote a good essay (i hope), it wasn't very long but no one specified something like a word count or anything of that sort, i think it was a about a 2-3 paragraphs esssay, i hope it's enough.... how much does it take for them to garde the essay and send the results?

I am an intl student so dont know for sure. I got the toefl score a month after i appeared for it. it really depends where u live.where do u live?
