First sorry for this silly question.
I am planning to take TOEFL this month but I do not know what is the last acceptable time. I may take it on 31 or 24. On MIT website they say JAN tests are acceptable but I mistakenly sent my terrible SAT 1 so I am afraid that they may consider SAT 1 instead of TOEFL.
Either January 24 or January 31 will be fine – any January date is acceptable.
If you want to be sure MIT will consider your TOEFL score rather than your SAT score, you should choose MIT as a score recipient when you take the test, and maybe send an email informing them that your TOEFL scores will be arriving after you take the test. Did you note on your application that you were taking the TOEFL in January?
If you’ve already noted it in your application, then no need to worry – they will wait for the scores to arrive.
The admissions officers will begin reading applications in the next few weeks, but applications are each read by several people, so it’s okay if your scores don’t come in, and your application is not complete, until later. The committee will not meet to discuss applications until mid- to late February.
