I have never taken TOEFL but have confidence in getting sufficient score in one sitting (or hopefully twice.) I misses the last test in my county on December 20th, but some of schools of my choice set its application deadline on January 1st but they accept SAT on January. Do you think they will also accept TOEFL on January?

Some of schools of my choice set its application deadline on January 15th but don't accept SAT of January 25th. Do you think they will not accept the TOEFL taken on January 17th? Actually, there's also a TOEFL on January 11th, so this one isn't a big problem, though.

In general, do universities accept TOEFL which was taken slightly after their deadline?

You need to email the International Admissions Office at each of the colleges and universities on your list, and ask them what their policies are. Do not be surprised if each place gives you a different answer.

None of can really answer your question for sure. It depends on the policy of each school…

HOWEVER, I don’t think there is gonna be any problem with taking TOEFL late December or early January. Because TOEFL scores will be ready in 10 days and schools will have the scores before the Jan SAT…
Just keep in mind that you have to list your schools in your four score recipients if you want them to have it sooner…

Note: Sometimes you can waive the TOEFL by good SAT scores, so don’t worry if schools don’t accept your Jan TOEFL.

I found that some schools exempt of submitting TOEFL due to my score of SAT, yet others don’t. So, I will send an email to these unis. Thanks so much.
