Told ya so!

Once again, my guarantee came through, as the Buckeyes solidly beat your pathetic Wolverines. Even with 3 or 4 BS calls, Ohio State prevailed! HANG ON SLOOPY, SLOOPY HANG ON!

What do you mean solidly beat? It was a 3-point game and OSU had home field advantage not to mention that deplorable turf condition.

Excuses, excuses. Ohio State also had to play on the same turf, and if not for a couple horrible penalty calls on the Bucks, we win this game by 11. Plus OSU beat U of M last year when it was at Ann Arbor, and will win again next year when it is at Ann Arbor. I already guarantee it!

Yeah, what was with that turf? Every high school in the country has a field in better condition than that. Why not just play it on the ice in the hockey arena? OSU should be ashamed of itself for hosting the biggest game in a long time and giving these great athletes a crappy field to play on.

When walking around downtown Columbus, I probably saw 20 people carrying around squares of sod they stole from the field. Pretty cool.

Pretty sad that OSU has to run a corrupt program and pour all of their resources into one thing just to be able to beat U of M at something. Back to the 364 days of the year where OSU is just another crappy state school and Michigan actually matters.

Good luck competing in the job market with Michigan graduates. If your entire meaning of college is football and then you need to get a life.

I'd much rather go to a school that is one of the best in virtually everything with a #2 football team in the nation than go to a school that has nothing besides a #1 football team.

I'm sorry guys, we are back to the other 364 days of the year when Michigan graduates get hired at Fortune 500 companies regularly and OSU graduates are left in the dust.

We should be ashamed.

Oh, and all of our graduate schools suck too.

Hehe, the last few posts remind me of the rivalry between Penn State and UPenn. My friend at UPenn has a shirt that says,

"We are not a state school, we are an elite university of the highest caliber.
We are the University of Pennsylvania and it has the school emblem.

Umm...told YOU so?

Bet "YA" didn't know that THE Ohio State U had an open admissions policy up until as recently as 1987. Yeah, that's right, no selective admissions, zero academic requirements. NO ONE from OOS would even consider applying there unless you HAD to....

A quote from their academic plan drafted in October 2000:
"Since the University began admitting fall quarter undergraduate students on a selective basis in 1987, and particularly recently, the quality of preparation of the incoming class has improved. We must now accelerate our efforts to recruit and retain to graduation an excellent and diverse student body. Today, only about half of our new undergraduate students (the fall freshmen) are admitted selectively. To continue this improvement, we must implement our enrollment plan and extend selective admission to all incoming students - freshmen entering in winter and spring as well as all transfer students."

When was selective admissions at Ohio's flagship U extended to all terms/transfers? 2003

What Challenges Must We Overcome?
"In summary, we are far from our ideal. Today, Ohio State is perceived as having great athletics and good, but not outstanding, academics. We are viewed as big and bureaucratic but with a strong spirit, particularly among alumni. Allowing for many exceptions to such gross generalizations, that perception is fairly close to the mark. So where do we start?"

Now that Mr. Know-It-All has done the cliche "told ya so" here, why not go tell OSU a thing or two? OTOH, they'd better just stick to football. And, do your academic/intellectual superiors a favor, stay out of the Michigan forums.

Pwned. Absolutely pwned.

Will someone please explain to me where "pwned" came from? I don't understand its origins.

Why not just say "owned"? I'm so confused.

Joev need's to get his ass outta this forum. nuff said

ok, im a huge michigan fan but this is about football, not about how superior michigan is in everything else

realize that UMICH did get outplayed and that if the OSU center didnt have a cast it wouldnt have been nearly as close... we got two huge breaks but still werent able to capitalize...

evn tho OSU sucks at evrything else, give them credit where credits due

should there be a rematch in the title game i like michigans chances... coaching=better and michigan tends to learn more than other football programs...

and btw, for next year, OSU will not win... returning chad hart and mario... i dk if troy is leaving early, but even if he isnt michigna retunrs almost all of their key players

and for the pwnd question...
"The slang term pwn (see pronunciation note below), a term used primarily in the Internet gaming culture, means to soundly defeat an opponent. It is sometimes used for taunting of a in-game enemies, and rubbing in victories.

The etymology of the term pwn is believed to be rooted in a typographical error arising from the close proximity of the 'p' key to the 'o' key on a standard keyboard. Initially — that is, before the term's adoption into the 1337 lexicon — "pwn" was generally parsed as an honest error and pronounced "own." Eventually, as the word took on a life of its own and began to convey a meaning stronger and more specialized than that of "own", its pronunciation began to vary as detailed below.

The term has become ubiquitous in Internet circles and is often used outside of gaming contexts. Its progressive form is "pwning." Its noun form is "pwnage." Its most common use is in the past tense, "pwned" (sometimes spelled "pwnt"). An example: "Did you see that guy get pwned?" Appending "zorz" creates a humorous variation of the word, e.g. pwnzorz. A less common use of the word uses intentionally incorrect grammar, a convention less popularly used in leet-speak, and makes the infinitive ("pwn") into a noun, e.g. "I am the King of Pwn."

To be "owned" in the gaming world is to be miserably defeated by an opponent or an opposing team, often without any harm done to the party carrying out the ownage. However, the term "pwned" is usually used when the loser is humiliated in a fair competition"

seriously, just learn how to do a google search and ull get 95% of the answers ur looking for

Michigan did not play well whereas OSU had its game of the year. The game was played at OSU and Michigan was still in shock after Schembechler's sudden death. And still, despite all that, Michigan managed to lose by just 3 points. This said, OSU did outplay Michigan and yes and there were a couple of big calls that favored Michigan. Overall, I'd say Michigan and OSU are the top 2 teams in the country. I hope they get the chance to play again. If USC loses to Notre Dame next week and Florida and Arkansas each lose one game, a rematch is likely.

Very pucking impressive, crouton.

Mich is still easily the 2nd best team in the country. Will the get the BCS championship game? No, because the public would rather see another team try and take down OSU. Would Mich win the game? IMO they would because it would be at a neutral site and OSU wouldn't have 100k+ people screaming for them.

ESPN is doin a poll and by that its showin most of the country wants to see a rematch...but obviously that's only out of like 5000 votes, haha.

God, I don't think I could take a rematch. If U-M wins, some would say the championship isn't legitimate because OSU already beat them. If U-M loses, it's another day like Saturday was, plus people griping that another team should have had the chance.

It was a good game to watch, though. Certainly not boring.

It all felt different with Bo's passing. All that riled-up hoopla changed (at least around here) tom a very somber mood. The news coverage changed, everything took a different angle.
