I see you guys winning 1 (maybe 2) more games - but there is the possibility of the big zero from here on out (none of the games are going to be "easy").

The key will be the O limiting TOs and the defensive front dominating.

8-4 ? Meaning M will beat PSU? lol.

Beejay, nobody is expecting an 8-4 season at this stage. Most of us put PSU on the loss column for Michigan since the start of the season, so we aren't expecting a win on Saturday.

Alexandre, I thought you said Michigan was going 7-1 the last 8 games of the season? Not sticking to your prediction?

That's correct jec. I expected a 3-4 (losses to Utah, ND, Wisconsin and PSU) start and a 7-0 finish. I am now revising my expectations. I think 5-7 or 6-6 are more likely. Things just haven't progressed as I would have hoped. There have been too many injuries for this young team to develop effectively. They will be good, but not in 2008.

How long before Rodriguez' head is called for?

Realistically, RR will be allowed one losing season in 2008 and a mediocre season (0.600-0.700) in 2009. If he cannot consistantly produce good teams (better than 0.750), as of the 2010 season, they will be calling for his head. It is definitely lonely at the top!

5-7 or 6-6 record? No way. I see Michigan winning one more game at best. Winning two for the Wolverines would be a miracle. Three is an impossibility.

RingofFire. Why am I not surprised you have such low expectations for anything that pertains to Michigan. Virtually every one of your threads is an attempt to belittle the school.

You may be right ringoffire. PSU and OSU are most likely going to be losses, which leaves Michigan with very few chances for a 6-6 season. NU, MSU and Minnesota are no pushovers either. It is going to be a a tough season for certain. I can't say that I am surprised, although I was hoping for a quick transition.

I'm very interested in how Michigan fares against Northwestern. Then, I can see how they would have matched up hypothetically against Duke via the transitive property.;)

ringoffire, by that reckoning, Appalachian State would have beaten Florida and PSU last year and Toledo would beat Wisconsin this year. The transitive property does not apply to sports. This said, I think Duke would possibly beat Michigan this year. Of course, Michigan would generally beat Duke over 90% of the time if they played Football. This just isn't one of those years.

You talk to Indiana/Michigan/Purdue fans and none of them think they're winning another game this year. This may actually be one of the years where 6-6 goes bowling.

JoePa gonna beat U-M from way up in the press box.

Despite what pussies liek A2Wolves say, we suck the rest of the season but pull out a miracle vs OSU...I have my ticket ladies...smell you in Cbus.

Why the hell did sheridan come in!

I don't get that either. Threet was completing over 65% of his passes. He did not have a turnover in the first half. The offense was clicking with him. Why did Sheridan come in. It seems like the offense was thrown off and the team lost is focus and confidence when that happened. Not that it would have altered the outcome of the game, but Michigan needs to find some sort of consistancy. Altering QBs like this does not help. I also don't understand why Minor was not used as much in the second half. He ran pretty effectively in the first half.

Nick Sheridan had to come in because Steve reinjured his elbow. It can't be helped, RR even considered sending Justin Feagin into the game as a QB. Nick Sheridan has been so disappointing and inefficient. Michigan won't be able to make any good play if Steve's out.

Alexandre...Threet was hurt, that is why we saw Sheridan in the game. I have to agree that to bring Sheridan into the game at that point without Threet hurt would be just terrible coaching. I didn't think Threet was hurt during the game, to see that his arm was numbed up restored a little bit of faith in the coaches...

I have to say that I am reminded of last year with the Threet/Sheridan situation. Back then, the team just looked way more confident with Henne in the game vs. Mallett...this year, the team just looks so much better with Threet in the game..there is really no comparison. Which brings me to the point that I hate Threet taking so many hits when there is no depth at the position. I absolutely believe that Threet is a gamer, he is always looking to gain the extra yards, but we cannot afford to let him keep taking licks like that on the running plays. (But I am definitely impressed by his running ability.) It seems like as soon as he is out of the game the team just deflates...I really think that the rest of the season we have to protect Threet if we are going to finish up this season somewhat respectable.

Sheridan hasn't been disappointing. He just isn't that good. If his dad hadn't formerly been on staff, he wouldn't have even made the team as a walk-on. I don't know why anybody expects him to do anything other than **** his pants anytime he steps on the field.
