mangazero, are u also worried about cal's size and people's individuality that they dont care about anyone!!?

Jimmy, i do talk about reputation all the time, and its an important factor one could say, but the thing is that both of these schools are known, one is more than the other by just a bit. UCLA's weather is one to beat. I feel most comfortable @ ucla since im so used to it. But, I am only drawn by berk's education quality (at least by hearsay). Also, i kinda dont wanna be too far from home...but then again, berkeley is just an hour by plane. I dont know, maybe im just making excuses not to go.

Should i blindly accept berkeley? LOL! thats probably a big mistake!

well you could choose the other option, don't go to college LOL.

I chose Cal because of it's highly ranked program, among other things.

If the pros vs cons won't work for you, you are going to have to go with your gut. It seems like you want UC Berkeley to be located in LA for the ultimate experience.

In that case, the city seems to make or break the school. If you like LA that much-bite the bullet and just go to UCLA (which is not bad at all obviously).

Like I said before, if you want to explore try coming to NorCal, you can always visit LA on the weekends, and SF might make an alternative, though I doubt it.

What's stopping you from just making a deposit to UCLA then? It seems like you want it more than berk and convincing yourself to go to berk. I completely understand because I was in the situation with williams vs. Upenn. reputation vs. experience. If you are stoked about UCLA, then go for it. I am just suggesting that now is the best time for change, granted it might not be the best, and you might not like it, but in the long run, you gain some perspective outside the socal bubble.

sf isn't that far from berk... like 30 mins on bart. it seems really close to me. i used to go literally every weekend.

i really agree with jimmy. for me, while i would've really liked to go to ucla, i plan on living there for awhile so this might be one of only a few opportunities i forsee of getting out of the socal bubble. i wanted to take advantage of that.
