thats right peeps! tonight is the last day to submit your SIR for the UCs.

I still havent made my decision!

I narrowed down my list to UCLA and UC berk. (These two have always been at the top of my list)

But my problem is i dont know which one to choose and i only have um...6-8 hours? lol

Help me choose!!!

soc @ ucla vs comm @ berk. Comm is my preferred major though, but i just dont really like going out too far, and berk is kinda pushing it. I also fear being stuck with some weirdo as a roommate (uc berk is known for weirdos) and not being able to make friends.

Berkeley because I want to hear you crying on the boards come fall a/b your roommate.

exact position your in including major..

lol, any other thoughts?

mangazero, are u from socal? and where are u leaning towards?

you left it a little late. you're probably better off doing a search for old threads about ucb v. ucla

what the? that wasnt helpful at all!

go to berkeley - slightly better school (in most people's opinions), prettier campus (IMO), and a cooler environment (once again, IMO).

i dont wanna be a loner! lol

dont go to berkeley, its not where your heart is.

(yes, thats right, i'm psychic)

I dont really like ucla either, the berkeley campus is better looking, and the distance between my house and LA is only 20 mins on freeway. Although, i LOVE LA (not the school, just the city)

mojojo grow a pair and head out of socal. if you don't like it up here, finish your school and move back. if you do, you made the right choice.

LOL!! i cant transfer back! if you are a cali resident you would know that after 60 units, you are practically commited to the school. Dropping out is not an option, unfortunately, which makes the decision even worse.

I think he means finish as in the 2 years you have left

mylifeisover, u are from the southbay, did u choose ucla?

no i am gonna go to ucsd, didn't get into ucla

oh. Sorry to hear that. Where would u have gone though?

mojo I am building a pro and con chart right now

Mojo, My personal opinion is to go to berkeley. Since I have seen you speak about prestige and getting a job, I am assuming that you find employment important. Although I am biased for looking only at consulting firms, I feel that berkeley gets more recruitment than UCLA. Also, even though UCLA is slightly below berkeley, I feel like it's more prestigous (obviously because of the grad programs).

Besides academics and recruiting, you can't really beat UCLA in weather and school spirit, but why not experience something new? It's a big reason why I am leaving UCLA because I live like.. 45 minutes away and its really the only time to try new things before you have to be serious and work. Suppose you DO get a weird roommate, go join some activities or even a frat. If you make the effort, you won't be a loner.

feel free to PM me if you have an specific questions about LA.

if we go to the same school i'll be your first friend
