too good to be true?

I received the WUSTL '08 data sheet/supplement in the mail a few days ago. After reading through it twice, I was astonished/elated to find that there was no required, or even optional, second essay. Is it true that the only essay needed is the one from the common app? Are there other application materials that I don't know about? Or do I just have extremely dysfunctional vision? Does anyone know of any top 25 universities that require only one essay? I'm planning on applying to 16 schools (yup this is going to be quite a semester) so anything that could help me minimize my time spent on this....junk.....would be amazing. THanks =)

Apply to 6 schools rather than 16....that will minimize your time.

i am applying to about 13..... what is ur reason for applying to soo many i hope it is not just 4 acceptance reasons??? mine is., full tuition merit/full ride scholarships are in all of them.

I don't remember washU requiring an essay, but check closely, that application was awhile ago for me. Also, I agree... I applied to about 8 schools and it still got hectic. Concentrate on putting extra effort into a smaller number of schools you like for different reasons.

yes, but wash u waitlists a ton of people, so send in a supplementary essay!

Last year there was not additional essay for the WUSTL application. They make it easy for people to apply, the more that apply, the lower their acceptance percentage, the higher their ranking. Smart, from their POV.

In the "other information" section you should write a concise supplemental essay about "Why Wash U?"

I aagree with Entomom. There is no other essay needed. My daughter didn't do a supplementary essay, no one even suggested it and she got in ED.
