I just transferred from physics into the ME major so this is my first semester of engineering and I would like a summer internship. My engineering gpa should be around a 3.5-3.8 but I was wondering if its too late for this summer? Also, what are the best ways about going to find one?

At this stage, you better check your networks or find something related to machinery and such, because it is late to apply for a MechE internship(online and such).

Talk to your department, maybe they will help you. Also try to take as many ME classes and labs. Also start applying everywhere. Good luck :)

Shotgun method. Apply to every single one you find on the internet. Any and every engineering internship that will give you experience.

Yes, it is quite late. But perhaps you have an opportunity for a NSF REU at a school that hasn’t filled all of its slots yet. Get online pronto and investigate. My niece got news of her acceptance into a materials science REU last week and is waiting to hear from other the other REU programs she applied to.
