Too late for internships?

I am a Sophomore and a physics major looking for internships late. I have no experience looking for internships, so could someone help give me an idea of what I should be searching for? I live in Maryland, so anything in Maryland would be amazing. I have completed for the most part all the physics courses required for a physics major and all the math courses required for the major. I have a GPA of 3.1 at the moment, so that was the main reason why I was weary of searching for internships.

Does anyone have any tips or internships that they know of which would be appropriate for me.

As a physics major, I would look for research positions. Its a great place to start and gain experience before entering the industrial job market. Talk to your local colleges and try to find a paid one. If not, get a volunteer research position. It helps you get your internship for next year.

Would an internship be considered too much for someone who is a sophomore? Around what grade do people normally get internships as science majors?

Any grade. Most people get internships as juniors but sophomores have a good chance at getting a lot of positions, particularly in research.
