Too Late for New England Regional Student Program??

Hi guys! Recently, I’ve been accepted into UConn and I’m super psyched. However, I am not so psyched about the cost of attendance (is anyone really though :))). I only recently learned about the New England reduced tuition program, and am interested in one of the majors- Allied Health Sciences. I’m from NH so I qualify for the discount. However, I already got accepted into CLAS (same college as the AHS major) for Environmental Science. Can I change my declared major before I start freshman year? It wouldn’t normally matter at other schools, but if I can save ~$10k I will definitely take it. I couldn’t find any much information online for switching INTO the program so any tips or information or ideas on who in UConn to contact about this would be greatly appreciated, thank you!!

Not sure if you can change after acceptance. I was accepted into the Cog. Sci. program and am OOS so I will stay in that for at least first two years and get core courses out of the way. Then I will decide what to do after that within Liberal Arts. It will save some money. I guess you can email or call UConn to see

Yes. You can switch majors and take advantage of regional tuition. Email or call your admissions rep. I think they need it in writing to make it official (preferably before orientation when you meet with adviser to pick classes) - but If its in the same college (i.e. CLAS) then there’s no issue. Once changed, they will notify financial aid who will adjust your package. If you received merit as well, that will be adjusted down to instate levels. We are doing this and with the merit adjustment, the savings isn’t huge but it’s still in our favor. You can even double major if you want, the one eligible for regional tuition would just need to be listed as the primary major. And if you already did all this I would love to hear if it was as easy as it was explained to me. Good Luck!
