Too late in the process?

I took my SAT in Jan 2014. I thought of retaking it in June or August. It was only after the May deadline was over, did I realise that SAT was not offered after May until October! (I'm international and that's how well informed of the college process I was ) :(( So I've registered for SAT in November. Subject Tests in December and in between I have to take my TOEFL. One good thing is I have my short list ready. And amidst all this testing, I have to draft my essays, revise them and send them off to colleges. Cherry on top, I have my school EXAMS! My board is terribly tough and I'm finding it so hard to manage all this.

So what should I do about this? I'm thinking of stopping everything, and take a gap year. I could manage my school well get great grades. Next year, I could prepare for my tests and take them. I could also take some time off abroad volunteering. And then next fall apply. But what my parents tell me is that I've come this far. So why take a year off. I could just somehow manage to rush it up. What should I do?

Dont worry.Check the websites of the colleges you have shortlisted for the deadline dates.Usually they accept till Dec testing.PM me if you need any help or advise.Me a parent

Personally, I was in a similar situation last year. I would suggest you to, if the application fee and other application expenses aren’t a big hurdle for you, to go ahead and try your luck at the admissions. If you get your choice then you won’t have to wait for a whole year(Which in my view is pretty bothersome). In case if you don’t, all good, then you can go ahead with your plan.

:) thank you…everyone is asking me to do so… wbu? did you apply? and get accepted? ^_^

apply on the shortlist and see your luck. If not try next year with some more worthwhile ECs to justify the gap year.

Don’t take a gap year… You will get in, girl coz I know u r awesome enough for that. And it isn’t that late yet…

I wish to see u in Umich soon okay?

I would have definitely taken a gap year if it weren’t for you :)
