Hey everyone! I'm wondering if it is too late to apply for Fall 2006. The school is on a rolling deadline, but they stop accepting once it is full... Is it pointless to apply this late into the year? Also, please check out my thread on the "What are my chances?" board and help me! THANKS!

CALL the admissions office the SECOND it opens TOMORROW, and try to explain why you haven't applied already, and see if they'll work with you. If the class isn't full, and you would be an average or above average student, you may still have a chance.

My school wasn't on the NACAC space availability list.. Does that mean that they have no space, or are they left off thelist because they are on rolling admissions? Someone please help! I'm worrying myself so much these last few days! I applied last Friday (exactly a week ago) and not reply yet.. Do you think it's too late!?

you're in trouble. Deadline to accept admission was on May 1st.

Maybe if you got a special case, they may let it slide, but u may be in a bit of trouble there.

And why'd u apply so late?

All colleges say the latest u should apply to a school is by beginning of January.

What gives with you?

Call them, for heaven's sake....please, the longer you wait, the more frustrated you will get and the less chance you have of figuring what to do...use the phone

Well, I'm a junior right now so it is a bit of a special situation. I didn't think I would have enough credits done in time to go to college.. I visited the college and did an interview, so isn't calling a bit redundant since they should already understand? I'm just worried it's full.. Agh! I don't know.. I hope I get in. >.<

Oh I see, you're a junior. So what's the big problem. If u don't get in this year, just apply for the Spring 2007/Fall 2007 semester. Look at the bright side, at least you don't lose a year since you are a Junior. If you were a Senior, this would be more serious.

just call, you don't even have to give your name if you don't want and ask the question, is there room in the fall class and are you still accepting applications...that will let you know if they can even consider your application...it will give you the answers we can not

Bearsforlife, I don't want to take a year off, I want to go to college this fall. I'll be done with school by fall, so it doesn't make sense to wait until fall 2007. Gah, it's been a week since I applied and I'm going mad already waiting for the letter..

BelleGirl...hope all works well for you. If not, you may want to take classes for a year at community college and transfer them over - you'd once again be ahead at college ;).

Hmm, I guess that's true. Hopefully if I don't get in, I can just subsist on the community college courses and re-apply for fall. The thing is, my GPA and SAT scores are above their average (the admissions counselor was really impressed with my SATs), and the admissions counselor said I would make a good candidate for admission and should apply right away.. So it would be horrible if time was what stopped me from getting in! :P Bah, we shall see when the letter comes, and in the mean time I guess I will just continue to pull out my hair and pace back and forth. ;)

Thanks for the help, everyone!

are you graduating early or something? i'm sure you need a High School diploma to go to college.

No, the deadline for acceptance of offers isn't May 1st for all colleges, nor do all have a deadline of applying by January 1st. I know the OP knows that, but I thought I'd clarify that before answering the original question.

My kids had safeties that were rolling admissions. It took 4-6 weeks to hear back. (They applied in the fall of their senior years; I don't know if the timing varies by time of year.) On CC, I've heard of people hearing from their rolling adm places in 2-3 weeks. I've NEVER heard of anyone hearing back in 1 week. So, first of all, you should relax. Second, call the admissions office and ask if the class is full. If not, ask how soon you can expect to hear back their decision. Only the school itself can answer your questions; not anyone here :)

IF money is going to be an issue, it may be too late for you to get the FA that you need outside of loans because most of the grant scholarship aid has already been allocated.

The director of admissions sending me a letter saying I needed to send a letter of reccomendation, transcript, and my SAT scores.. I ordered the scores sent like a week ago so I don't know why they didn't get there yet since I rush delivered them.. And I had my transcript mailed and I emailed a teacher about a letter of reccomendation, so I don't know why they didn't get any of it..

I'm going to call them tomorrow morning. But is it a good sign the director of admissions wrote me a letter saying they needed those things before they could review my application? Obviously they remembered me since when I was there there was a flier about the major I'm going to do but they were out, and they sent me it with my letter.. So what do you think, good sign?

oh man, u should NOT have left this for this late into the process, cause you're only asking for problems like the ones you're having right now.

Okay, but I did, and I can't change that now. So letter: good sign or no sign at all?

Did your teacher confirm she/he sent in the letter? Did you contact SAT-Collegeboard, and check on that? Did you verify school sent off records? It is possible things have crossed in the mail, so just call them already, your making me nuts.... ;)

Good sign I think but JUST CALL!!!!

I called and they said they hadn't gotten anything.. I'm sort of worried since I ordered the SATs to be rush delivered like a week ago for something like 30 dollars and Collegeboard.com said it would be sent in like two business days.. and emailed my teacher about a reccomendation last Thursday and had my transcripts sent like a week ago. Gah, I'm going crazy, why hasn't anything come yet!?
