Hey guys, I had intended to up the ante to 2 self-studies this year after 1 (Environmental science) sophomore year. I haven't really started though. I still want to do both and the fee collection is coming up soon, but I'm not sure if I'll have sufficient time. But then again, people call these the two easiest APs. If not, I want to do at least one of these. Which should I do if only one, or should I just do both? Thanks in advance.

Do them both, and more!

i recommend one - psychology.

idk about psych, but human geography is so freakin easy. i literally took the ap world history exam last may, came home and opened the barron’s HG book for the first time, pulled an all-nighter, took the exam (still reviewing 30 seconds before the exam pamphlets were passed out) and got a 5. so… maybe allot yourself a week for it if you’re a particularly slow reader ; )

Haha okay, three different ideas–all of which I will take into consideration. Thanks guys!

Human Geography is an extremely easy AP to study for. I think id you started a week before the test, you’d still have a high chance of getting a 5.

AP Psych is mostly memorization as well, so I don’t see why you can’t tackle both:)

I’m self-studying AP Human Geo. I haven’t touched the review book until today. I didn’t even read anything; I went right to the practice tests. I took one and got a 4 (on the MC; obviously couldn’t do the FRQs yet!) with NO background knowledge in HG. AP Comp Gov and AP Calc helped me on a few questions, though.

Nah not too late for either.

I’m gonna start studying too, I just got the prep books from the library.

Anyone know if 5 steps to a 5 is good for HG? That’s all my public library has, other than the Kaplan book.

Btw, my counselor is strongly discouraging me from self studying. She made it sound like it’s totally impossible to do. I’m planning to self study HG, Psych, and Stats.

From reading posts in here, it doesn’t sound like it’s THAT bad of a deal, especially if I start right away.

That is what my counseller said, I am now self-studying AP Calculus BC

I’m sure you can do both if you work hard. Good luck!

HG is ridic easy. I did not study for the tests in class and I did not study for the exam. I aced every test, I think, and got a 5. Just know the vocab.

At the beginning of the year I was doing this weird thing for Psych where I wasn’t in the class but I took the tests. I stopped when my counselor told me I couldn’t get a grade in the class because I was taking college courses, but they were all really easy tests. Another guy I know takes the tests but isn’t in the class, and he gets A’s on all of them. So I don’t think the AP will be a problem.
