I don’t think it’s too much because these programs are so competitive that applying to more increases your chances that you will be accepted to at least one. I applied to seven…

Too many Indians applying for very few spots. That is the huge problemo. I am an Indian too. :)

Im a Junior and I just want some of your guys opinion on the courses im taking next year. Here are the following:

AP English Literature
AP Calculus AB
OSU Fund of Engineering
AP Chemistry
Honors Theology
Honors Arabic 4
American Law
Economics

What are your thoughts?

so far my weighted GPA is a 3.90. but thats not my unweighted.

weak…
You have alot of “other” classes if i could caterogize them for BS/MD program

you should take these classes, you have some, but try to nail as many as you can if your school offers them

AP Biology
AP Chemistry
AP Physics
AP English Language and Composition
AP English Literature and Composition
AP Calculus BC
AP Spanish/German/French/Latin

I have taken all but “Lit and comp” & a language AP.

lol, yes, satacer, that is very very true. As someone who applied to more than 6 programs, I think its good but also bad. Its good to focus a lot on individuals apps and applying to a lot means you put less effort into each one.
BUt seriously, wayyyy too many indians want to be doctors-like 70 percent of the ppl at my miami interview were indian.

I am Native American not India Indian

^lol, then why would you call yourself indianman? Dont facilitate and legitimize the idiocy of Christopher columbus. Your not indian!

JK I was just joking to see what people would say.

I have taken or am taking everything on jj’s list except for ap physics, these classes will really help you prepare for bs/md programs.
The first interview I went to at Duquesne the guy said 29/30 people who he was interviewing were Indian. At the first Drexel interview there were 90% Indians too.

“too many indians applying for a few spots”–couldn’t have said it better myself

I applied to 11 and have already gotten 5 rejections. My bro applied to 10+ and only got one interview at VCU and he’s in their Program now. Applying to a lot increases your chances, but like was said probably decreases the quality of applications and costs more money. Only apply to a lot if you are entirely sure you want to do one. Also, don’t apply to programs you wouldn’t go to, but have a “better” chance of getting into–its a waste of time and money.

Indianman and COCONUTMONKEE,
what colleges with bs/md programs did you apply to?

My best friend applied to 22 of them. I have lost perspective on what’s too many XD
