Too many credits to transfer?

I've been at SUNY Oneonta for the last couple years and earned ~150 credits. I switched majors several times and, because I was working on campus and had my tuition waived during summers, I ended up with ~50 credits in summer elective courses. I finally settled on majoring in Chemistry and did very well in General and Organic. However, I found the science programs at Oneonta to be very inadequate, and I had hoped to transfer to BU to complete a degree at a university with quality science programs.

I am totally fine with having many of my Oneonta courses not count, but I was wondering if the number of credits I earned at Oneonta would keep me out. I have a 3.60 cumulative GPA with a 3.81 in Chemistry courses (Gen 1 and 2; Organic 1, 2, 3). Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Hi,

My name is Rob and I’m a Binghamton University Student Ambassador.

There is no maximum amount of credits that would prevent you from being considered as a transfer to Binghamton University. It is possible that not all credits will transfer or be applied towards degree requirements, however.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

I would contact Admissions and ask this question specifically just to make sure.
