too many "prereq" classes for uc transfer

Hi. I go to ucsd and i've posted on this forum asking for chances. what i'm specifically wondering at this point is if all the math classes i have taken will be a disadvantage. (applying as math mjor obviously)

i have taken more than half of the required upper div classes required for the math major at berk. i do pretty well in them too. now, if i had just taken a couple i feel like that would be an advantage, as cc students dont have the opportunity to take upper div classes, and berk would like to see that i can succeed in my major. however, after taking more than half of the required upper div classes, i fear that berk might not see the point in letting me transfer because i have so few classes left.

the thing is, i plan on double majoring in econ, but i dont think they have a spot on the application for that. and even if they did, i dont want to tell them because its more than twice as easy to get in as a math major than an econ major. should i write about the fact that i want to double major in my essay?

any feedback is appreciated, and sorry for the long post.

i'd talk to a ucb counselor anonymously (phone call)... make sure you don't get more than 80 units or they won't let you transfer at all. there is a spot on the application to explain stuff like this, but i wouldn't waste an essay question on it (since i doubt it will apply to the prompt)

thanks for the advice. i think i will give them a call.

no i'll have 66 units (not counting ap or cc work done in hs), so i should be fine.

How much CC work are you going to have?

They do not take senior level transfers.

no, i'm a junior level transfer. i have 12 units from cc on top of my 66 in college, but that 12 was done is high school, and i thought that doesnt count towards the max?

you should ask UCB to make sure it doesnt count
