Too much ECs, not perfect grades?

I'm a high school freshman (way too early, I know) that's worrying about having too many extracurriculars, and almost perfect grades.

So far, I'm a three-sport athlete (football, wrestling and track), a first chair first violin, a journalism student (on track to be editor of the paper my senior year) , key club (running for president junior year) and starting choir and indoor track next year.

My grades, though, are almost perfect. I got a B grade in honors geometry, and I got A grades on the rest.

I know my grades aren't terrible, but I worked as hard as I could this year to get my grades up, and honors algebra 2 is supposed to be significantly harder than geo, and my coach wants me to swing up to varsity next year for football.

Is it worth having a lower GPA to for more extracurriculars?

…you got one B. In your entire high school transcript. And you’re complaining.

Can you like just leave the internet.

Oh, sorry, I just skimmed- you’re a freshman too? That just makes this whole thread sad.

Will you be recruitable as an athlete? If so, you need to learn about the procedures now.

If not, you need to stay on an academic track. High grades will be most important for you, so don’t let your activities take over your life.

If we are to assume you’re not a ■■■■■ then here goes: your GPA is much more important than all those things unless you’re on track to be recruitable in a sport. If you were my kid, I’d tell you to narrow down the list.
