I just filled out my iPlan course sheet...thing haha. I was just wondering what current students thought about it. I get a few mixed reviews from my friends at other colleges but since every college has its own way, I wanted to know what you all might think.

I'm going in a psych major and am exempted from WRT 105 and 205 due to AP Comp + Lang credit. I was placed by the Syracuse tests to go into 201 French (btw, anyone else find that test weird? lol)

CAS 101 - Forum thing. I signed up for an LGBT one that came through by e-mail so I don't know if that replaces it or adds another class...
MAT 221 - Prob & Stat
AST 101 - Our Corner of the Universe
PSY 205 - Foundations of Psychology
FRE 201 - French
~Writing Replacement~ PHI 107 - Theories of Knowledge and Reality

Could someone also explain to me the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice parts of the iPlan? Are they in case the classes are full so they have a back up for you? Or is it planning for your 2nd semester?

I'm so so so sorry for all the questions. I'm the first one to go to college in my family and I am completely lost haha. Please forgive the annoyance I may cause and thank you so much for the help!

In regards to some of your courses…MAT 221 should be a breeze if you have any prior prob/statistics experience. I’ve taken a math course every semester from business math to calc II and 221 was by far the easiest course.
PSY 205 shouldn’t be difficult. Attend the lectures. He’ll give away test questions/answers time to time and read the book prior to the exams. You’ll also have numerous opportunities for extra credit. Take advantage of every single one.
PHI 107 is very much writing intensive but with your writing experience, you’ll be fine.

I just want to point out that the booklet suggests not taking a science course your first semester if you are taking a language, as they are both 4 credit, rather than 3 credit courses.

You’ll love Jerry Evensky (If thats who you have) for ECN 203. He’s a great teacher but is very strict when it comes to organization and responsobility.

If you have any questions on logistics of the class and how to be successful in it just PM me. There are a few key things you might want to know about the class before hand.
