Back in seventh grade, I was invited to take the SAT as a part of some college's program (I don't remember which college exactly because I more excited that they thought I was intelligent enough to take it as a seventh grader!). Anyways, I took it and scored a 1458. This upcoming year, I will be a junior. Toward the end of my sophomore year, I decided I wanted to take it again so that I could see how well I would do.

Anyways, a couple of minutes ago I was reading an article about the SATs. In the article, and in many other places when I fact-checked it, it said that colleges don't like to see an applicant that has taken the SAT more than three times.

Now here's my question. Does this mean that the last time I ever take it would be the next SAT I take? Or, does the one from when I was in seventh grade not count at all?

Last question. Would you recommend that I take the SAT at the end of junior year or in the beginning of senior year, if I am planning to apply to some colleges EA?

Anything before high school doesn’t count.

Figure out if you need to take any subject tests to apply for any of the colleges. Consider taking SAT IIs in May if you’re in the corresponding AP/honors/whatever course. If not, my best advice is to finish everything as early as you can. You can also take the SAT throughout your Junior year - it doesn’t have to be the end. You can pick a month that’s relatively free and take the SAT them.

The seventh grade one won’t matter. Collegeboard wipes all the tests taken before high school from what I know. Personally I took it in seventh and eighth grade and twice in high school, but the two in MS don’t matter.

The 7th grade sat doesn’t matter. I would actually recommend taking the SAT early Junior year if you are applying to colleges that require SAT subject tests as well. I think the best time to take the SAT is in January but that’s just a personal preference.
