I have no idea. Seriously?
Is it during junior year? or start of senior year or something?

And what's the difference between the SAT 1 and SAT 2 and stuff?

And what's the difference between the SAT 1 and SAT 2 and stuff?

It doesn't matter, as long as its before applying to colleges, and if after 8th grade (otherwise, the scores arent recorded).

SAT I is the basic test, which tests math, reading, and writing, and is usually required (either that, or the ACT) to apply to most colleges.

SAT II's are a whole bunch of tests that tests subjects (like BIology, or Spanish), and are only required by some colleges.

Junior year is a good time. senior year is a rush. and sophmore year is ok. freshman year may be early

Junior year is normal. But, if I could go back and do it again, I'd take one a year. Starting freshman year.

doing over again, I would take it at least once before junior year and then both at the beginning and end of junior year. if you need to retake in your senior year you can.

In March of Junior year I took the SAT I. In May I took the SAT IIs. In June I retook the SAT I. And in October of Senior year I retook the SAT IIs.

Does it matter if you take it many times? Is it frowned upon?

most of this is in mulitple threads in the SAT forums... but generally it's recommended that you don't take it more than three times unless you can really improve your scores a lot.

When to take the SAT I also depends on whether or not you plan on applying ED. If you are planning to apply ED, you don't want to have to take the test in October of your senior year-- the score report comes out like, a week before the deadline, and it is too late to fix anything if you didn't score well.

I think taking the SAT once a year starting with freshman year is a little excessive. First of all, your math class may not have even covered some of the material on the test yet. Colleges will see how many times you took the test regardless of what score you write in on your app, and taking it too many times is frowned upon. If you want practice, buy the Blue Book and do the problems in testing conditions. If you really want to take actual College Board tests that early, take the PSAT.

Taking the test during junior year and perhaps retaking senior year is fine. You don't need to retake the test a million times to do well.
