took 2 AP tests in 1 day

so i took 2 AP tests in 1 day and i got a 3 on the 2nd 1 that i took. does that hurt my college chances because i'm applyin to top universities?

They don’t care that you took them on the same day. It hurts, but not very much.

Yeah, it doesn’t matter how many times you took them on the same day, your scores are what counts. It won’t really affect your chances, but they won’t look at you the same way as if they saw somebody who got all 5s. Besides, it’s really for just college credit, so you should only be disappointed because you spent so much money on those exams.

yea it sucked takin both US and Euro in the same day

What really sucked was taking physics right after Bio. That 10 min break was harsh…

There are several people who did the same but got 5’s. Nonetheless, 3s on APs are usually neutral in terms of your application. 4s and 5s give you a boost. It’s the 1s and 2s that you have to be worried about.

That said, when I was in high school, I took several APs and it goes without saying that on several days, I took two APs on a particular day. Because I was confident in the subjects, I don’t think that affected my scores.

It was my sophomore year & I wasn’t really thinking bout getting a 5. The average score for APs is like a 2 at my high school, but then I was the only person who got an A in my class so there isn’t any grade inflation

A reality check: Many colleges routinely expect students to take two final exams on the same day. Some expect their students to take three final exams on the same day. Get used to it.

My friend had to take British A Levels (roughly equivalent to AP) in English Literature, Pure Biology, and Mathematics in the same day lol. A couple of A Levels are scheduled per day anyway, so many students need to take 2-3 per day :P

Colleges don’t care, and it’s not uncommon. Suck it up, I had to write 12 essays in one day, with a 5 min break and no lunch. X_X

Multiple A-Levels…that would be harsh.
Failing an AP isn’t good, but failing an A-Level.

THAT is bad.

Many schools only use AP exam scores for placement, so it’s not a big factor in the admissions process. Don’t worry so much about a 3 on an AP exam - focus more on grades, SATs, etc because those are what way more heavily on the mind of adcoms.

Yep, suck it up, A levels could be spread out over a month or all taken in 2 days. You got a 3? Should’ve worked harder if you think you deserved better.

I agree.
