Hello all,
I recently took the SAT for the first time. I managed to score a 2340 (800R, 770M, 770W) without having taken any sort of test prep. I'm obviously fairly content with these scores, but I think that I could do better were I to take it again, perhaps even a 2400. Do you think I should take the test again?

Additionally, I was wondering if my scores qualify me for any sort of scholarships/other opportunities. My family is well off (500k+ a year) but I'd really like to help out in getting college paid for, if only as a symbolic gesture. Any help would be greatly appreciated; I'm not exactly on top of this whole process.

Congrats on the score
Honestly a 2340 is more than enough for most schools and majors (the average might be slightly higher for the more technical majors like engineering but keep in mind it’s only one part of the profile). Taking it again won’t count against you in the long run because most schools will usually look at only the highest single test date score or some do the super-scoring technique. So it’s really up to you.
Scholarship wise I think it’s best for you to do research on the schools that you’re interested in. Look on the school’s financial aid website because they might list some different scholarships they have for students. If not, getting in contact with them is another option.

At this point, your score and a 2400 wouldn’t make too much of a difference. I’d say you should focus on extracurriculars and things you’re more passionate about.

I’m not too sure on scholarships and other opportunities.
