I dunno if its because I'm from NJ but I like Rutgers, the Scarlet Knights. hmm.. like each league has a good mascot.

ACC = Florida State Seminoles or BC Eagles
Big 10 = Michigan Wolverines
Big 12 = Texas Longhorns
PAC 10 = Oregon Ducks or USC Trojans
Big East = Rutgers Scarlet Knights
SEC = Vanderbilt Commodores
WAC = haha w/o a doubt Hawaii. that mascot is insane!

I only put the leagues that I actually watch the games(football). or the more popular ones.

but the best one is probably the Army Black Knights. =]

This is freaking hilarious! I do like Army Black Knights. But the mascot knights remind me of my secondary school mascot - a knight with a flower on his head. Supposedly "knights" were too sexist and the principal (a woman) decided to add a flower for a dash of femininity. When I think back to it, it cracks me up.

The best thing about college teams is that they have quirky mascots! While pro sports can't afford to name a team the Dallas Aglets*, University of XYZ might be able to.

*Aglet: the plastic thingy on the end of a shoelace

Ohioans know what a Hoosier is, but we won't go there. And yes, I know the whole story behind it, which just makes it that much lamer.

The Billikens definitely deserve the #1 slot, and I like the comment about the winking monkey elf. That's exactly what it is. Stanford's tree doesn't deserve a spot on this list; it's too normal.

Ohio Wesleyan's Battling Bishops are a little quirky, but again, they probably don't have a place on this list.
