Which of these would be the top 20 for an engineering major?

That list is not complete. Look for a newer one.

Even if they don’t accept the Common App, some schools have really easy applications. Rose-Hulman is an example of a solid engineering program that does not take the Common App, but their app is pretty simple. This is kind of a dumb way to pick schools to apply to (if that is what you are doing) – for heaven’s sake, research the schools, your chances, and the costs so you don’t have to do 20 apps. Then put in the elbow grease to apply. A scattershot approach isn’t the best way to go about this.

I’m not applying to 20 schools, especially not from just the answers on an internet forum. There’s no sense in that. I just wanted to know which schools were engineering schools on the Common App/

You can start be filtering out schools which do not have any engineering majors if interest. See http://main.abet.org/aps/AccreditedProgramSearch.aspx/AccreditationSearch.aspx</a> .

Some on the list that you may want to check out:
Harvey Mudd College
University of Michigan
Purdue University
Cornell University
Bucknell University
Embry Riddle Aeronautical University

And of course, there are many others, especially schools that aren’t common app. But these are a few with notable engineering programs.

“I’m not applying to 20 schools, especially not from just the answers on an internet forum. There’s no sense in that. I just wanted to know which schools were engineering schools on the Common App/”

My point was that the University of Michigan is on the CA. It was not mentioned on your list and therefore your list is not, “complete.”

That comment wasn’t towards you… It was in reply of the person that commented above it. @rjkofnovi‌

Start with a list of engineering schools, rather than a list that accept the common app. Then narrow down the list with reaches, matches, and safeties based on their selectivity. Narrow it down further by location, personal preference, notability in the field, and any other factors you may want to consider.

Some of those schools on your list, primarily liberal arts colleges, do not have engineering programs at all (although there are a few noteworthy exceptions). So that means take out schools like Connecticut College, Holy Cross, Vassar, ect. Having a school that accepts common app should not be your main concern. If a school is really a good fit, you can apply there without using common app. Furthermore, don’t apply to 20 schools. Application fees are often high, and that can easily add up to over 2000 dollars with many application essays

Do some more research on your own and then come back with a smaller list where people may be able to come up with the best fit for you.

Use some of the database functions (like sort) in a spreadsheet. Import this list and the one @ucbalumnus suggested into separate columns, and sort only for occurrences in both columns. Then share the results.

Will I do this work for you? Nope, why would you ask me to? Why don’t you do it as a service to others who may have the same question?

:)

Can you explain why you do want this list if you aren’t planning to use it to decide where to apply?
