yahoo,

Have you noticed US schools take up 11 of the top 15?

Oxford, Cambridge and Imperial all deserve to be where they are, few would say that is bias.

World's most highly regarded top 100 rankings.

ARWU2008

Rice University WHAT

The top rankings for colleges in the USNWR that most everyone here are so are enamored with are reserved for strong UNDERGRADUATE schools. Quite a few of these schools, Rice included, are not necessarily known for their strong graduate programs across an array of disciplines.

Berkeley suffers here because the publication is clearly not aware that UCSF is Berkeley's defacto Med School/Bioscience research. "a rose by any other name", etc.

I do get a weird pleasure out of seeing UCLA ahead of Berkeley though :)

to all those wondering why the rankings look so whack, please be reminded that the strength of the Ph.D. programs generally determines such rankings. Of course undergrad focused schools will be viewed as "partial" schools rather than complete ones.

^You're right, even if it is essentially considered Berkeley's med, UCSF runs completely on its own funding and with its own endowment as an independent UC so I guess it wouldn't help Berekley in these ranking, meh.

Well i suggest that UCB just rename UCSF as UCBS..F yeah, I know there is a pun in there somewhere.

Such a more important and accurate list than USNWR...at least for students interested in going beyond an undergrad degree.

This list is horrible in every aspect.

I don't see the point of many of your posts other than to bash Princeton.

I consider myself akin to Churchill's years "in the wilderness" or Bill Buckley "standing athwart history yelling 'stop!'" You see, someone has to do it.

PtonGrad revealed useful information, let him be. Furthermore, you have posted a lot more on this forum than he has. With your logic, you must have nothing better to do too.

PtonGrad2000 presumably graduated in 2000, given the average Princetonian's penchant for originality. I graduated in 2008. If I'm still on this site in 2016, I will stand corrected. Until then, I suggest you adopt PtonGrad's more successful strategy of not responding to me rather than hanging your neck out for me to mock, which I shall happily do.

Enjoy the eating clubs!

Since every one seems to be doing college rankings these days, I have decided that number one college/university in the world is:

University of Sao Paulo in Brazil.

You better believe it. I'll make sure to publish it in my magazine to make it more credible, so you suckers can apply there. It must be true, since my magazine is telling you so.

^Really? That post took editing, really?
