Hey all,

I am an undergrad student currently planning to declare my major in Industrial and Operations Engineering at U of M Ann Arbor. Problem is my gpa is just below average here at the College of Engineering, and I have heard countless stories of GPA being crucial in getting a solid internship. I am in classes that I'm required to take and haven't taken an IOE course yet (not until next semester) and they are really taking a toll on my gpa. For the most part, during the day I work hard and for most of the day to get my stuff done, yet I still can't seem to get my GPA up to where I want it to be (3.0 ish). I was just wondering what some good options are for me in terms of getting a good internship? I only have working experience with jobs unrelated to engineering fields, like typical high school/summer jobs.

Any feedback from some fellow engineers would be great. I really don't want to have to transfer but school is by no means getting easier, and IOE is top 2 in the nation here at Michigan.

Thanks!
