I am currently a student at Bellevue College and plan to transfer to the UW in order to study Computer Science and Japanese. The main reason I chose BC was because it had 2nd year Japanese which most other CCs didn't appear to have. MY question is what CC is recommended to transfer to in order to transfer to the UW. I plan on taking a class or two at the UW as a non-matriculated student next year so I would prefer if the CC is close to the UW. Thanks for the help.

I heard that Shoreline CC has one of the highest in the state transfer rates to the UW. However, I don’t remember where I heard it and I don’t know the details about it.
Shoreline CC does have 2nd year Japanese I believe.
And it’s a great college overall.
Relatively close to UW.

I went to Seattle Central and LOVED it. There are a few professors there that are better then ANY professor I’ve had at the UW. One in particular was life changing. Seriously.

I went to Bellevue College and it is a great school. :)

bellevue college is no longer a community college

@TravelGirl: Bellevue College offers 4-year programs but it still is scored as a CC for the admissions process if you earn an AAS-DTA degree.

Bellevue College, Seattle Central, South Seattle and North Seattle were all in the top 10, but Bellevue was ranked #1 for number of students accepted to UW Seattle. With that said, many of my BC classes and Seattle Central classes were wholly inadequate as prerequisites at UW. I felt like a professor amongst JR High kids at times at these schools, then came to UW and have been playing catch-up.
