Top majors at UCI, UCSB, and UCSD?

Hi guys, I'm new to the board and was wondering where I could find information on the top/or popular majors at each of these UC's? I have been accepted to UCSB and UCI. If I go to UCSB I am thinking of majoring in Communications. If it is UCI, either Humanities or Sociology.

I found a list of the top 10 majors at UCSB:

1) Business Econ
2) Biological Sciences
3) Psychology
4) Communication
5) Sociology
6) Political Science
7) English
8) Computer Science
9) Law & Society
10) Global Studies

at SD one of them is biomedical engineering, which is proly no help to u. :)

well... since i currently go to uci, i'll say a few things about the humanities and sociology departments.

i was a school of humanities/undeclared major for about a year. the school of humanities is very small, and you get a lot of personal attention. you get a personal faculty advisor who writes recommendation letters for you, and you also get weekly emails from the "humanities network" that tells you about everything you'd ever want to know. there's a really good humanities paid internship program too, exclusive to school of humanities students.

i recently changed my major to sociology because i came across some really good professors. if you do end up going to uci, take a class with dr. shampa mazumdar and definitely one with dr. chuck o'connell. o'connell was voted "professor of the year" by the graduating class of 2005 at uci. it's ironic because mazumdar and o'connell are both lecturers ("temporary" or as other sociology professors call it, "permanent temps"). the sociology department certainly does have some of the best professors on campus.

anyone knows the ranking for ucsd's CSE?

Business Econ is the best major in UCSB? wow...so surpirsed...

hahaha..then maybe i will go there...yeh...party school..!!!

^Those aren't the best majors, just most popluar in terms of amount of students taking them.

Physics (<-- better than berkeley) and Engineering is UCSB's best majors just incase you were wondering.

Physics at SB is better than at Cal? Wow! I thought Physics at Berkeley was right up there with MIT and princeton... or maybe that's engineering. never mind.

i think for undergraduate physics UCSB is better....for graduate physics, Cal is better...tied 2nd with harvard, princeton, and stanford...

aaaah, i see. i never knew that, wow... didn't know that UCSB was that strong in anything other than biological sciences.
