Top MBA chances...Please read

My friend has asked me to post this in hopes of getting some advice or feedback from everyone on his situation.

His stats are as follows:

Bachelor of commerce degree with a 3.8GPA

GMAT score: 680

Work experience: He has been a licensed real estate broker for 4 years who has also founded a very successful boutique real estate investment firm. His company engages in the sales and acquisition of investment properties, structuring creative deals with buyers/sellers/investors, and also has a separate holdings entity.

Reason for obtaining an MBA: To further his management education/skills and expand his business.

Here's the kicker, the bachelor degree he obtained is an online degree from Athabasca University (This University holds an accreditation from MSCHE).

He would like to know what his chances are for admission into a top MBA program?

By top what do you mean? The top ones have 700+ GMATs.

Ok well, his first attemp at the gmat was 680 and he's confident he could score 700+ on the 2nd attempt.

So with that being said what schools would he have a chance at if he were to score 700+ on the GMAT?

And what schools would he have a chance at with the score of 680?

Thanks.

Check it out on Princeton review, they have all the averages.

He has an understanding for the averages of GMAT and GPA for top schools. His main concern is that his undergrad was obtained online and isn't sure how this will affect his chances of admission into a respected MBA program.

With that being said, if he rewrites the GMAT and scores 700-710 does he have a chance at the top 5 MBAs?
