Yesterday I received a letter from Dean MacLaren inviting me to Top Scholars Weekend because I was identified as a top scholarship recipient. However, I still have not received my letter telling me how much money I was awarded… I figured I would get that letter first before receiving other letters. I emailed the dean last night and told him my situation. He said he would look into it when Tulane reopens in the new year. Is there a chance that my letter got lost in the mail? or that they never sent it? I was admitted to the Honors college and invited to Top Scholars Weekend, so I am assuming I got a sizeable merit scholarship. I would just like to have my actual letter!
You are not the only one. See my response to another excellent student. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/tulane-university/1839636-no-package-yet-p2.html posts #18-19
Given the 0.1% rate that the post office fails to deliver something to the right address in a timely fashion, it would make sense that a few of Admission’s offers would not have shown up before these letters for TSW. Add to that any errors by the Admissions Department (it is a human endeavor after all) like an envelope falling behind the printer.
If its any help, I believe that studnets invited to top scholars weekend are usually awarded either the presidential or premier scholarship
