Do they require any classes to be taken? I'm looking on the UPENN website and can't seen to find any. Maybe I'm just find, help lol.

dumb*

help my stuipidity! plz

They want 4 years of english, at least 2-3 years of the same language (the more the better), 3-4 years of a math (including calculus), 4 years history and social studies, 3 years of science (physics, bio, and chem) lab courses too. That's it. certain school may have specific requirements (like some don't care about language at all, some want 3 or 4 years specifically).

is there a link? sorry lols :P

Most of the top schools don't have 'requirements' per se. There's no 'you have to take this class and this class and this class', but it should be pretty apparent that you need to take the most challenging options available to you. This DOESN'T mean, however, that you should take something like AP Calc if you're bad at math. If you know you won't do well in a class, don't take it. That class alone will hurt your GPA/rank, and the stress can affect your other work as well. Colleges like to see that you know what you're good at (or, similarly, what you're intending to major in) and that you're working your way towards it.

My advice would be to take as wide of a base as possible in APs (look at the examples benellis gave you), but keep in mind your limits and the way to best present yourself to colleges. You need to be competitive though, and not having specific requirements is a good way for colleges to weed out the less desirable (to them) applicants.

Oh, one last note. I'd recommend looking your schools up on the college board website (collegeboard.com) to see their requirements/recommendations. Although it has been known to be wrong in the past, it's a great place to start and make sure you're on the right track.

TY I was just wondering because my counselor told me to check for fine art classes that might be needed.

Holy smokes. Your GC is not very well informed on what it takes to swim in the ultra selective college admissions pool if he/she is asking if you need a Fine Arts class. While he/she might be very well rounded, not every GC has to deal with students who are applying to top schools.

If you're serious about putting a viable application into UPenn and like schools, they you should get a solid book on overall, ultra competitive college admissions. Do a search or post a request for recommendations.

Yeah I had the premonition, I'm a freshman and I've read a book on admissions. I was pretty sure that you didn't need a fine arts class, but I didn't want to look like an idiot for a person that is suppose to write a rec for me :P
