Total OT!

So, I'm from the deep south and am just a little curious about football season from those of you who know about it. Here it is common practice for the boys to wear button up shirts and ties, while the girls wear sun dresses. Like I said in the title, completely random, but I'm just curious. Does anyone know if that occurs at USC? Thanks!

You are really funny and the people at USC will love your sense of humor. Or, are you not joking? If not, you will have a big surprise if you come to USC and see how casual students are there.

First off, I think he/she is completely serious.

Secondly, to answer your question: hell no. Welcome to the West Coast.

We actually shouldn't be making fun of anyone here. When I was interviewing for an east coast school, the alumni (who is originally from the west coast) actually brought up how differently people dress at football games here and there. I was shocked lol. I had no idea that people actually dressed up for football gmaes.

No one is making fun of anyone- sorry you interpreted it that way. It's just funny to think of how casual the students are at the football games and trying to think of anyone dressing up. I think the OP titled the thread OT- (off topic) to lighten the tension of admissions. Let's all lighten up and have more topics like this.

jeans/shorts, flipflops, USC tshirt...

or, the infamous girl cutting up usc tshirt and tied into skimpy dress outfit

sorry you interpreted me wrong...i was joking :). but i agree.

ha sorry y'all thought i was joking.. i was really just wondering... i visited the school but not during football season, it was like july so... and glad i could ease some tension as someone pointed out... i do what i can! haha

I'm from Texas and I've never seen that...

I don't think I've seen anyone wear button-up shirts and sun dresses during football games :) But it'd be an interesting sight to see.

hahaha where are you from? the only time ive seen people dress up at a football game was at my homecomings, and then it was only the people in the running for homecoming queen and king..

Check out a U.Va. - Wake Forest game some time. Shirts and ties, khakis, ballcaps, sundresses, etc. on both sides of the field. And a surprising proportion of the ties will be bowties. But while dressed for a serious occasion, the guys will be obnoxiously rowdy. It's kind of a preppy paradoxical philosophy and fashion statement.

i'm from louisiana... and before this goes any further, i HATE lsu with a passion, it should die. and sorry if anyone gets offended, but this is a usc forum so i doubt it. but anyways... that kind of attire is really popular at a bunch of southern school football games, especially if you're in a fraternity or sorority... but even if your not, they still do it.

Every time I look in this thread, it makes me smile.

Why is that? xD

With everyone worrying so much on the other threads, cbrdlik has painted a fun picture of college students (I guess just from the south?) who wear suits and ties (bowties!) and sundresses to football games. Then I picture the 'SC games with the very casual, but fully cardinal (and gold) outfits. Such a contrast- no one is good or bad- it's just all so funny to me. And crdlik's rant about LSU ("it should die")- very funny. (Nickel Xenon, I know you are under stress, but you just gotta laugh!)

Somebody needs to start another light comedic thread here for distraction from this stressful waiting time.

cc- i'm just glad to make someone smile haha, i just figure (well, the oprah show figured and i just liked it) that if we have positive attitudes, good things will happen. we've worked hard for the past 17/18 years to go to college and we just have to believe it'll work out for us. so instead of worrying about who has better stats or things that we no longer have control of, let's think about things that will happen as if we are going. someone told me that this would give a sense of false hope; i really just think it makes waiting easier.
