Hey CC, I'm caught in a conundrum. I really want to make it to Stanford and i know the rigorous effort it takes to get there. but i have a choice to make. Should i take the Ap classes I'm planning to take next year. IM currently a sophomore. im really good with math and this year i have A's in every class which are honors. Open to any advice. Thank you.
AP English Language
AP Spanish Language
AP Calculus AB
AP Biology
AP US History
AP Psychology

Looks like a great schedule. What is the alternative?

What’s your schedule this year? Jumping too so many APs when you’ve never taken one before might not be a good idea.

This really looks good for a sophomore, except that if you haven’t had any P classes as of yet (I’d guess you might be taking AP World this year) it will be a bit of a shock. Remember that the week of tests you may have two on the same day (off the top of my head, Language and Stats, if that comes up in the future), so be prepared for a week of hell in May.

My only warning is with Psych. All of the teachers I ever saw teach that class were bottom of the barrel, watch a movie for the day types. You may want to reconsider and take, say, Stats.

For me, that’d be too much. I’d drop one but you might be better at handling those than I would. APUSH and AP Bio are both really memorization-heavy.

Depends on the workloads your teachers give. AP Bio is typically a very, very hard class. In most schools, the other APs do not give so much work… so if you’re prepared to spend 4+ hours on homework everyday, and still maintain a social life/extracurriculars, sure.
