Hey everybody, I am currently attending a community college and I could really appreciate some general advice on classes. Doing pre-reqs for my planned major(Chemical Engineering) and next winter I plan on transfering to the University of Washington and finishing there. However to complete the classes I need in time to apply for the school of Chemical Engineering school I need to take 4 classes next quarter which are:
Chemistry 2
Physics 3
Calculus 3
Differential Equations
This amounts to 22 credits in one quarter which will be a TON of work. I'm not particularly worried about chemistry 2 or physics 3 aside from the fact that I will have just that much more work to do. What I want to know about is how difficult will it be to take differentials and calculus on top of everything else. I plan on starting to study Calc 3 and Chemistry in between quarters. Can someone advise me on some difficult concepts I could look at a little early so they have time to sink in while I am busy with my other courses. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds like a bad idea to me. At many WA colleges, Calc 4 is the prerequisite for DiffEQ. In any event, each of the classes you are taking is highly demanding and time-intensive. If you go with this schedule, plan on not having any sort of outside job or a social life.

I know how difficult it will be, but I reallly do not see any alternative besides staying at Cascadia for another year. I do not have a job so I don’t have to worry about that. and I think studying with friends in the library will be what my social life consists of next quarter haha. Does anyone think it would be possible to get As in all of these classes? I have a 4.0 GPA at the moment and last quarter I took World Civ, Calc 1, and Calc-Based Physics 1. Right now I’m in Calc 2, Chemistry 1, and Eng 101 and my schedule isn’t too tough.
