Towers 3 ?

Thanks for the info. The Symposium should be a great way for all the BHC students to meet each other. Good luck with your studies.

I know the housing website says a shower curtain is not provided. What about the rod?

The rod was there, but from where it came…who knows!!
Many students put a rod and curtain on their room closet and some put one on the common room pantry/closet.

There are 2 towel bars in shower/bathroom but no towel bars at sink.

Curtains are not allowed on windows. There are vertical blinds.
String lights are not allowed either.

Ask me anything.

I have some pics of what suite looks like when you move in.
PM if you want them

I would love for you to PM some pics when you get time @ufmomfriend@! Also, could you give us a hint as to what items your Knight learned were “must haves” for first year in Towers? THANK YOU!!!

Thank you!!!

@tbosmom
No problem
I will email more if anything else comes to mind…lol
Don’t hesitate to ask anything.

How did orientation go?

The orientation was great. We met some great people, got good information about UCF, got registered for fall and spring semesters, and got to know our way around campus better. I am jealous about the opportunities and facilities my son will have available as he starts college at UCF. He feels very happy about his decision after 20+ campus visits to 12 different universities. Go Knights!

@dbhawk I’m glad it went well. Next spring he will be able to register for summer, fall and spring!!
If you have any questions I might be able to answer, just ask.

Charge on!!!

Orientation went really well. SO much information! Our knight got all of his classes, and he is very excited about them. Visited Towers again and have begun checking items off our checklist in anticipation of August move in. We did ask the gal at Towers what time of day is best for move in and she didn’t really have an answer. We were thinking around noon after the first wave of move-in folks head to lunch. From your experience @ufmomfriend, is that a good plan? Thanks in advance for all the help. CC has been a blessing for sure!

@tbosmom
It’s hard to say the best time. We have been there at several times and there never was a line to check in at the lobby…walked right up…lol. The issue is always the elevators and the rain…both of which WILL be a problem. The rain does tend to come later in the day, but there is no guarantee to that. The elevators are rather slow…all day. And they don’t really want you moving in after a certain hour. Bring water bottles/drinks if you can because the vending machines run out. If you need a good break, there are a few places on east and west plaza (around CFE ARENA) to grab something…knightros cafeteria may be open too…about $8 or $9 for a meal…no you don’t need to be on the meal plan or a student to eat there. Be warned that the publix that everyone uses will be packed literally with students, siblings, mom’s, dads, Abuelas, etc. There is another Publix south on university that may be worth the drive…about 10 minutes. Traffic around the campus may be terrible…especially if you are headed east on alafaya to go to Waterford to go to best buy, target or home depot. Wal-Mart is on colonial…it will also be crazy.
Bring your patience, humor, handcart, toilet paper and umbrellas.
And remember that current students are very helpful and a wealth of knowledge…they remember!!

Oh…TAKE PICTURES…it will be fun to look at them later!!

Thank you! Looking forward to it! Should be a great day!
